
The unforgettable motorcycle route
Teide National Park - Izaña - La Esperanza
This is a spectacular route that allows you to tour the Teide National Park which is the oldest of the Canarian parks and the most visited in Spain. It is a place of great beauty and diversity, where you can admire the impressive Teide volcano, the highest peak in Spain, and its unique volcanic landscapes. The park covers an area of 18,990 hectares and has been declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO since 2007.
From Puerto de la Cruz take the TF-21 towards La Orotava, where you can stop for a moment in the old town. On our way to the majestic Teide, we will find numerous viewpoints, each with its own charms, such as Pino Alto viewpoint, Mataznos viewpoint, Vista La Palma viewpoint, La Rosa de Piedra viewpoint, among others.
On this tour, you will discover completely different landscapes as you go along. The mines can be visited on foot, following a circular path of less than a kilometer, which passes through several points of interest, such as the old extraction galleries, the calcination furnaces, the chasms formed by erosion and the rock formations of whimsical shapes. This area has been the scene of several movies and scientific experiments.NASA used this place to test robots that were later sent to Mars,also Warner Bros shot some scenes of the movie Fury of Titans in this environment.
Leaving aside the access to the cable car, you will undoubtedly reach an emblematic point of the island of Tenerife, the viewpoint of Los Roques de García. A place of great beauty and geological value, and from them you can admire the impressive Teide, the highest peak in Spain and the third highest volcano in the world.
Next, you will go around the Pico del Teide, where you will cross a sea of black lava and reach the viewpoint of Las Narices del Teide. Then you will return the way you came and head towards the town of Vilaflor, where you will see some unique landscapes and find Pino Gordo, a native Canarian pine, with about 45 meters high and about 3 meters wide, also nearby, there is a bar cafeteria for refreshments.



Next, you will go around the Pico del Teide, where you will cross a sea of black lava and reach the viewpoint of Las Narices del Teide. Then you will return the way you came and head towards the town of Vilaflor, where you will see some unique landscapes and find Pino Gordo, a native Canarian pine, with about 45 meters high and about 3 meters wide, also nearby, there is a bar cafeteria for refreshments.There are still several kilometers left on this route, so you will head again towards the Teide, having another perspective and the Portillo you will turn towards the astronomical observatory of Teide or Izaña, where you will find countless viewpoints such as the viewpoint of El Corral del Niño, Puerto de Izaña, viewpoint La Tarta, La Crucita, Ayosa viewpoint, and viewpoint Chipeque. The only thing left to do is to enjoy the drive through the forest of Las Lagunetas. Returning to Puerto de la Cruz, you should make the last stop at the Humboldt viewpoint, where you will find unique views of Puerto de la Cruz, La Orotava and Los Realejos with the Teide in the background.
The route is about 180 km long and takes approximately 4 and a half hours of non-stop driving.
